Zenith Bank Plc says it has introduced an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot on WhatsApp, named Zenith Intelligent Virtual Assistant.

According to a statement on Wednesday, the chatbot allows customers to perform financial transactions and enjoy real-time customer service from their mobile phones.Commenting on the new banking solution, the Group Managing Director of the bank, Mr Ebenezer Onyeagwu, said the launch of ZIVA was driven by the need for additional secured channels of communication with customers.

According to him, the behavioural pattern of the modern customer dictates that they want to engage with brands over the channel of their choice.
