Bauer's been on the forefront of software-defined vehicles and an advocate for women in automotive.

in our celebration of Women's History Month. Each week, you'll hear from the incredible women who leave their mark on the automotive industry.Think about a car from the '90s. Now think about technology from that same period. There was no way in hell you'd think the two would ever intersect, right? No, not back then. But in 2024, cars are becoming more connected than ever, and it really does feel like we've barely scratched the surface of what may soon be possible.

Broken down a bit, it means Bauer and her team view the entire automotive industry as one ecosystem and understand its deep connections with supply chains. Their work helps their clients and customers connect and improve relationships with one another. And since AWS has one of the, if not the, biggest scopes of cloud capabilities in the world, it's the best-equipped company to do so.

The goal, Bauer said, is "to help all end customers have a more personalized experience in the vehicle, or a more seamless experience through the buying process." As part of Chief, which describes itself on LinkedIn as a "private network executive women rely on to maximize their leadership impact through access to a vetted executive community and valuable insights," Bauer also uses her position to elevate other women. As in, hiring more women is great, but what's being done to support them?
