Apple is in the final stages of negotiating a deal with OpenAI, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports. Should the deal pull through, it is expected that the former will be able to utilise the firm's ChatGPT model to power new AI-related features which, allegedly, will be included in the upcoming iOS 18 update.
As you may recall, Bloomberg previously reported on a separate deal between Apple and Google, which aims to integrate the latter's Gemini AI for similar purposes. According to Gurman's latest update, negotiations are still going, and it may take a while before an agreement is reached.While this may look like a first-come-first-serve basis, it's still possible for Apple to utilise more than one AI model to power its new features.
