At a CVS in downtown Indianapolis, customers can see small cases, as well as locks, on individual racks.An east Indianapolis Kroger has two aisles sectioned off in a giant case to try to avoid shoplifting."I was losing about $40,000 a year," Benjamin estimates.

"If somebody is reaching to grab something and put it in there, it signals," Benjamin said."There's no age or sex bias — there's nothing. It's just the algorithm that, that shows your body movement.""I don't want to just catch shoplifters to put him in jail," Benjamin said."I just wanted to be able to sell it ."
