Photo: TNSThe 42-year-old heir to the British throne inherited the Duchy of Cornwall estate and Duke of Cornwall title upon King Charles III’s ascension, following the 2022 death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The distributable surplus is used to fund the public, charitable and private activities of William, wife Kate Middleton and their young family, according to the estate’s website. The private estate provides an income to The Duke of Cornwall, per the report, noting it is “managed in harmony with The Prince of Wales’s goals so that it can be passed with pride to future generations.”
The Princess of Wales has largely kept a low profile since Christmas, when she last appeared in public prior to undergoing “successful” abdominal surgery in mid-January and announcing her cancer diagnosis in late March.
